[I make bracelets out of rubber bands and rope or string, and
phone cases out of different types of materials]
Needs and Opportunities
Explain the problem you have noticed that needs to be solved with
a project like yours. This is also your hook, so make sure you grab our
attention. I want to start my own jewelry
and phone case business, so people can buy phone cases at lower prices, and not
have to spend so much on one case, and original bracelets made by me out of
rubber bands, paracord rope, and string.
Audience / Clients / Users
Explain who will benefit from your project. How will you be able
to access them for an empathy interview? Teens love their phones; they can’t stay away from them, with that
comes a stylish case why not have hands on case made your own way you want.
Mentors
Who can help you with this project? Who will you need to contact and
what will you ask them to commit to in helping you? My second oldest cousin wants
to help me with this and also get people from her school to buy one or many,
and I think us together would make a great team.
Timeline
What is your monthly timeline for this project? I want to see a
list of deliverables with deadlines. You may find that the timeline needs
adjustment during the course of the year, which may be fine. Check in with me
if that’s the case.

Product
What is the actual product you will show this spring? This project
may be made of atoms or bits, but you must have something to show. I’m not
interested seeing a bunch of great ideas at the end of the year. I want to see
things. I will be
presenting all the different types of phone cases and bracelets I have made and
different styles.
Reality Check
I am looking for moon shots here, but even moon shots need
budgets. What equipment are you going to need? What other capital expenditures
do you anticipate, and how will you meet them? I have all my materials but what I will use is
rubber bands and clips, for the paracord bracelets, thick rope, fire, and
clamps, and for phone case I will have a kit where you can mix colors and make
it into the type of case I want.
Conclusion
Wrap it up. Why are you fired up about this project? Inspire us to
support you, and give us a great reason to approve your project. I am so excited that if I can
sell at least one of each item that would be an accomplishment for me, and that
everyone can walk around school with a case made by me and have my bracelets on
would light up my world.
